One thing that I do when I connect with my kids is to check in with them on their day. How school has been, how life has been, what’s going on in their world. I am not trying to pry or find things out. I just want to connect with their heart.
And I don’t about you but often I used to get this amazing answer-back. I get this (blank stare) … “uh, fine”
[00:30] “Yes”, another one-word answer ..
[00:55] So one way to do that is to ask open-ended questions ..
[01:25] It also opens up for me to see ..
[01:45] so that you can cultivate a better connection ..
